Family Pictures 2106

My friend Joanna offered to take these pictures for us because she is practicing to be a professional photographer.  I think she should start charging after I saw these!  They are so good and I love them.  I can't wait to move into our new place and print them out and put them on the walls.

Oskar had a great time while we were taking pictures, playing in the dirt, running around, and trying to sell people sticks.  He kept asking people if they wanted to buy sticks, if they didn't, he told them they could just have the stick for free.  He told us just today that selling something is the same thing as giving it away so we're not quite sure he understands the concept.  But two saps paid him $1 each for a stick in the park and he came home with $2 in his pocket.  What a guy.

I'm glad to have these pictures to document this point in time.  Oskar as a four-year-old, Ivy at 18 months, right before we make a big change in our life and move across the country.  When it's -10 degrees in MA we can look at the pictures and wonder what the heck we were thinking.  And then in 25 years we can look at these pictures and cry because we miss the babies our children used to be, but be glad for our LA experience and the experiences that came that year.

This is one of my favorites, it just makes me laugh every time I see it.

Does anyone else think Joel looks super handsome in this one???

I didn't realize until I put this as the main picture on this blog that Oskar and Ivy are holding hands.  That just makes my eyes leak a little.

Oskar's Song

For family home evening we were talking about Joseph Smith and so Oskar wanted to sing us his own song instead of singing one from the children's songbook.  This is an Oskar original.  And the shoe is his microphone of course.

Ivy and Ike

Is it just me or do these two look like twins?!
