Getting to Know Me

It's not that I haven't realized it before but it has come into focus more often lately that I am really obnoxious. It's not in the way that you think, or maybe you do especially if I'm your sister or daughter. It's not in that really annoying ever present way where I interrupt constantly inserting my own stories, hysterical laughter, or animal noises, vulgar or non. Contrary to what others might think it's not even a insistent argumentative attitude aimed at everyone that has teeth (hillbillies and the British are excluded). It's selective and severe obnoxiousness. There are a few things I feel so strongly about that I have to voice my opinion despite my relationship with those with whom I am conversing. They are as follows:

  • Harry Potter
  • Vegetarianism*
  • My abilities
  • Women's Rights
  • Anyone doing anything I don't like
  • Certain racial or ethnic stereotypes

*Opinions strengthened due to recent reading of Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer

I am glad I am not the only one who is obnoxious about those things. Sometimes you have strong feelings...what?

Well, I think what you're really saying, Jamie, is that your last name is Brinkerhoff. Right??
