Animal Sounds and Dumbledore

There isn't much room on my memory card so I have to take short videos and then erase them real quick to take another.  I probably should just erase some pictures...

All Ready for Church

Oskar looked so dapper in his church clothing we had to take some pictures this morning.  The top picture does remind me a little bit of a dwarf though.

In order to help him NOT make his pirate face that he thinks is a smile I had to shout words like, "Yucko!" "Schlopp!""Donut!" and "Howdy Doody!"  Those are the words he finds the funniest.

Pirate Face

I made this sleep sack!  It's pretty terribly constructed and I had to make a slit in the front because he couldn't fit his noggin in it but it serves its purpose.

Baby Blanket

Grandma and Granny made Oskar a baby blankie!  It's so cute and we love it.  I can't wait for Oskie to have a big boy bed so he can use it.

 

There was a slight mistake just because Mom was finishing it in the wee hours of the morning.  We still love it though!

21 Months Old

My little baby is 21 months almost, he's going to be 2 soon.  Crazy.  He's eating great, hardly ever throws up, and is hopefully gaining weight, I don't know because we haven't had him on a reliable scale in a while.  He is starting to talk a lot, he'll copy most everything that I do and say which is so cute and dangerous.  He's just hilarious and I love him more than anyone else has ever loved anyone.  I'm serious.

He has been getting sick a lot lately which is no fun.  The latest sickness necessitated us taking him to the pediatrician bright and early one morning because he was wheezing and retracting.  At the office they had him on the nebulizer for two breathing treatments and sent us home with an inhaler that we used for about a week.  I guess it shouldn't be too big of a surprise that he has asthmatic tendencies since they are genetic.  I can handle asthma though, as long as I've got an inhaler for him. With all the stuff we've been through asthma is a breath of fresh air (ha!)


He loves to read books by himself and with me.  When I read my books sometimes I lay down on my stomach on the floor and I've caught him doing that with his books a few times.

He talks a lot now, it's so fun to hear how he pronounces things and to see him copy what I say.  He still pronounces car as die which is a bit cynical of him I think.

He loves people in general and will go to anyone as long as they're not both a stranger and old, other than that he's their best friend.

He prays with us every night and will alternate folding his arms and then clasping his hands.  I think he does it because I fold my arms and Joel clasps his hands and Oskar just doesn't know which one is right.  I told him he should pray about it.

He's changed his funny walk up a bit, as any comedian must do, and instead of crouching down and doing a Groucho walk he know walks on his heels.  It is equally as funny.

He says no a lot but doesn't say yes at this point in his life. Instead he'll nod his head, unless he's in his carseat then he will kind of  move his stomach back and forth to indicate yes.  It makes me laugh every time.

He's hilarious and he's sweet and he's my favorite precious little baby in the world.

Back So Soon

Just over a month after we left Utah in August we were back!  Joel's sister Cecily got married October 4th in the Bountiful Temple and so we made a quick trip to attend the wedding and see family.  Luckily there was an open room in the Norwood Hotel because the person (Joel) who was put in charge to make housing arrangements decided not to do it and when we got to Utah we had no place to stay.  Oskar loved seeing all his cousins, aunts, uncles, and especially the fountain at the reception.

We had a great time attending the reception, wedding, luncheon, and birthday party for Joel's parents along with visiting with Kelsey's family and my awesome friend Halley.  My favorite discovery of the weekend was that Oskar pronounces Kelsey's name, "Chuppy."  I think it's a great nickname, maybe it'll stick.

 

 

 

 

Basketball Boys

Oskar Boy and Landon had fun playing together this recent trip to Utah.  We went to the Dinosaur Museum and played at Kelsey's house.  Oskar's favorite activity was playing basketball, or badgaball as he says it.  The real star of this video though is Landon, that kid is good.  So when he's a basketball star and they're looking for video of him playing as a toddler you can use this one.
